An Energy Industry Refinery Maintenance Management Transformation Project

For a leading energy company’s refinery, we completed a deep-dive review of the end-to-end corrective-maintenance process—from job notification to work-order closure—to protect asset availability, safety, and cost performance. The project's output, a lean future-state design, delivered a cycle-time reduction, with 70% of work orders able to follow a faster, standardized “runner” process. The roadmap also created a path to improve schedule attainment by 14.2 percentage points toward the global >90% target, close the 31-point maintenance-compliance gap toward 80%, and reduce avoidable overtime, waiting, rework, and permit-related delays. Improvements in permit approvals, material control, work prioritization, accountability, and tiered performance dashboards were designed to strengthen maintenance productivity, contractor efficiency, equipment reliability, and safe plant operations.

Streamlining the Path Back to Strength: An Airline Transformation Project

For a major airline company, we supported a critical process-streamlining initiative as part of its broader recovery plan to emerge from financial challenges. The engagement reviewed priority operating and support workflows to identify non-value-adding activities, delays, handoffs, and cost drivers; then redesigned processes to improve efficiency, clarify accountability, and strengthen service delivery. Using Lean Six Sigma methods, the project also helped build internal continuous-improvement capability and a more disciplined operating model to support sustainable recovery.

Deployment of an Enterprise-Wide Continuous Improvement Engine: An Aviation Industry Transformation

For a leading airline, we developed and deployed an enterprise-wide Lean Six Sigma program to strengthen customer value, service quality, and operational efficiency. Beginning in 2016, the engagement went beyond training: it established Lean Six Sigma governance, a Continuous Improvement and PMO playbook, customer-focused performance measures, a prioritized project pipeline, and structured coaching through DMAIC tollgates. The deployment built internal Champions and certified practitioners who could lead improvement projects with disciplined benefit tracking and sustainable ownership. The program later evolved into an Agile Continuous Improvement framework, combining cross-functional squads and short solution sprints with Lean Six Sigma rigor. This enabled faster implementation of customer-focused improvements, quicker benefit realization, stronger internal capability, and reduced reliance on external consulting over time.

  • Strengthening Lean Six Sigma Practice: Fintech Company

Scaling Continuous Improvement in Digital Finance: A Fintech Capability-Building Engagement

Working with this growing fintech company, we supported a cross-functional Lean Six Sigma program that built practical, data-driven improvement capability across customer experience, technology and operations, data and analytics, finance, risk, compliance, cybersecurity and fraud management, lending, wealth, and commercial teams. Beyond the training, project work centered on strengthening the digital customer journey and service reliability. Teams addressed recurring pain points such as delayed service responses, login and transaction issues, unclear balance displays, verification delays, missing cashback concerns, loan-application friction, and dispute-resolution turnaround. Using DMAIC and AI-enabled analysis, participants translated customer feedback and operational data into root-cause investigations, targeted improvement actions, and measurable control plans. The engagement used an onsite Lean SIx Sigma learning journey, supported by targeted project consultation and consultation, to help teams prioritize opportunities around complaint reduction, faster response and resolution, platform reliability, lower error rates, and clearer customer experiences. The result was more than certification: it created a shared improvement language and internal capability to solve high-volume digital-service issues with discipline, data, and customer focus.
